My name is Michael Walther. I’m a frontend developer focused on writing clean, accessible websites with semantic and optimized code. I was born in the late 80s in Bad Salzungen (Thuringia) and currently live in Leipzig (Saxony).
I was already interested in computers since i was a little boy which is actually the reason why I am kind of addicted to the whole digital world.
Later I studied “Media Information Technology” at the University of Applied Sciences Schmalkalden where I took a special interest in Webdesign especially corporate design and typography. During this time I initially worked as a freelancer and did some basic works as websites and printable products.
I graduated with the master thesis on the topic “typography on the web” and started to work in an agency called pluspol interactive. Since then my passion for web design has increased each day and I was able to focus my coding skills on front-end development, to write clean, accessible and semantic code.
I work with PhpStorm, Sketch, Invision, Adobe CS and Gulp/Grunt. Popular frameworks like Foundation are daily business for me so I know how to deal with versioning management like git.
Currently I’m working together with my dog ‘Spike’ at datenwerk. Since it is not enough for me I am still busy as a freelancer so feel free to say hi.
